At the end of the year in 2023 while beam was sending to EGUN:FC1, the EGUN:BIAS current read-back (EGUN:BIAS:RDCUR) made a significant jump up to ~1 mA. Since then, this is the normal level the EGUN:BIAS current reaches when ramped up. Because of this EGUN:BIAS current reading increase, the ramping utility wouldn't reach all the way up to 300 kV. The ramping utility needed to have it's Max current limit increased from 1 mA to 1.2 mA. This limit increase was implemented on Tuesday January 30 (WP#A2024-01-30-2). This defeat will be removed once the origin of this EGUN:BIAS current jump is discovered and resolved (being tracked in the issue tracker).

Defeat was implemented in the Control system by Keiko.

The EGUN:BIAS has it's own current limit interlock which is not effected by this defeat. The ramping utility still has protection, just at a slightly higher current limit. System expert (Friedhelm) approved the increase of the Max current limit.
